A walk round the north west of the parish yesterday gave some good views of the village set in the River Ash Valley, but a real paucity of birds. A common buzzard circled overhead, a few carrion crows, wood pigeons and a single green woodpecker were noted as well as a solitary yellowhammer. A common darter dragonfly was found near New Road. finally, a splendid full moon rose at the bottom of the garden.
