Traps: At least 1 and maybe 2 skinner 125MV, selection of actinic and black light traps. Up to 6 in total.
Time: Lights on at 8.45 with many moths arriving (hopefully) as from 10pm
Requirements: The paths are edged with nettles and thistles, so long trousers recommended. If it has been raining, wellies as the grass is long.
Torch or head torch essential and if you have any type of net it could be useful for catching moths attracted to the torch.
Picnic chair if you wish to sit around a trap to watch
Food and/or drink if you wish.
There is a picnic bench but this will be recording HQ for the night, where all potted moths can be observed.

Directions:
Millennium Wood is half a mile down Millfield Lane. This is accessed from the A120 between Bishop's Stortford "Tescos roundabout" and the traffic lights at Little Hadham.
From the A10: take the A120 towards Stortford and after the traffic lights continue straight on up the hill past the primary school. At the top of the hill there is a turning on the right signposted Bury Green. This is Millfield Lane. Continue along, past the thatched cottage until you come to a sharp left hand bend. See photos. Park on the grass verge on the right or over the cattle grid. The wood is further down the lane, some 50 yards, where there is a gap in the hedge, also illustrated here. You should hear generators and, if arriving after dark, the glow of several moth traps. Walk down the path in the wood until you come to an open area with bench and several of us will undoubtedly be there.
From Bishop's Stortford:A120 from Tescos roundabout and turn left into Millfield Lane after the Hadham Hall entrance and before you head downhill towards Little Hadham lights.
From Much Hadham: Through Little Hadham and turn right on to the A120 at the traffic lights. Head uphill and follow instructions as described for A10.
Look forward to seeing as many as possible for what should be a good evening.
My car will be parked as shown in the photos.
Please note: if raining then this will be postponed until the following week.
