2 moth days:hectic!

On Tuesday a very busy trap kept me going until midnight and a return at 4a.m before I set off for a moth morning and birding at RSPB Titchwell and then North Norfolk birding venues.
I just potted or listed all moths, fridged those wanted for photographs or further confirmation and was on my way.
Upon returning at 9pm I began ploughing through those 40+ unidentified. Fortunately not too many that were time consuming and eventually ended with a list of 86 moths of 46 species.
New for year ones were: herald, Shoulder striped wainscot, Lime speck pug and Crambus perlella.
This morning I had a lie in and didn't attend to the trap until 6.30, thereby missing all those that roost overnight on the fence as well as losing some that leave the trap as the sun warms it up. Consequently, just 30 or so species, with buff footman and brown tail being new for the year.
In all, the totals now stand at 132 macros, 109 micros and 1440 moths in total that have been identified this year.
