Successful Wander

A walk through Westland Green and then a check on my allotment. Firstly, a marsh tit in woods at Westland Green. Only 4th parish record and a bird I didn't see at all last year. Tried for a while to get a photo but constantly mobile in deep undergrowth. First identified by call and then observed. Secondly, as I walked down the track from my allotment my attention was drawn to an ivy clad tree trunk. Blackbirds and tits were alarm calling and I immediately thought tawny owl. After 10 minutes of crawling and searching I got good views and managed a few reasonable photos, 1 attached. Supporting cast: fieldfares, great spotted woodpecker (1 territorial drumming,) green woodpecker (photo 2) and common buzzard.
Photos 3 of the habitat where the marsh tit was and 4, River Ash flowing through fields south of the village.
