After an evening in Northaw Great Wood, I returned to a busy trap this morning, with plenty of good specimens, both new for me and for 2012. In all 91 moths made up of 25 species. New for 2012 were frosted orange (photo 1,) feathered gothic (2,) beautiful plume (3,) purple bar (4) and small dusty wave (5.) Other less regular visitors in the haul were cabbage moth (6,) marbled beauty (7) and flame carpet. Also, a photo of a splendid oak bush cricket, also attracted to the light.
Numbers were made up of 9 angle shades, 27 setaceous hebrew character, 8 brimstone, 5 green carpet, 7 silver y and 5 square spot rustics. Finally a photo of a common moth I don't seem to take too often, a pale mottled willow.
