This morning a new for year mallow was in the trap along with 11 other species and, in total, 22 moths. Of particular interest was a dark sword grass, my first for parish records but not new for the parish as Graeme Smith took one in Millennium Wood on 11th October 2014 on one of his many piratical forays on to my patch! This is a primary immigrant from the continent and not thought to breed in the UK. Also, a Silver Y and Plutella xylostella, both secondary immigrants but possibly also straight from western Europe.
A Black rustic, rosy rustic and Blair's shoulder knot were good to record, all local breeding moths.
