Several new moths

Last 7 days have seen good numbers of moths visiting the trap in the garden, numbers in excess of 100 is considered good for September. The 2 main species are setaceous hebrew character and square spot rustics; both seem to be having a superb season.
Numbers for Setaceous hebrew character have gone:
29.08: 35 at Little Hadham Place, 30 in the garden
30.08: 30 in the garden
31.08: 10 at Valley Fields, 46 in the garden
01.09: 3 at Brick Kiln Hill, 44 in the garden
02.09: 23 in the garden
03.09: 59 in the garden
04.09: 3 at Ash Valley Golf course and 64 in the garden

Consequently, over 1000 moths have been recorded in a week, with some good migrants.
Vestals continue to appear, with, at present the last record on 3rd Sept. This was the 7th specimen this year, with the first ever being taken on 23.09.
Udea ferrugalis are about in low numbers and yesterday 2 white points were in the trap, a male and female, whilst last night, a Nymphula nitidultata was taken on the local golf course to the 15W Heath trap. This was new for parish records as far as I can see, so all in all, good mothing at present.
