A visit to Broxbourne Woods on Friday was most uneventful apart from potting a micro moth. Rather worn individual but one I was not familiar with.
Upon returning home I thought it was Pammene giganteana but dissection by Graeme proved it to be the not quite so rare Pammene argyrana. Up to 2006 only 8 records. A moth that rarely leaves the shade of oak, where I found it. Also, early flight period means it may well be under recorded. Good record all the same.
