New macro moth for garden

Oak nyctleoline

double striped pug
Conditions looked perfect for an early September moth trap, but for some reason this was not to be. Just a handful of moths in overcast, warm conditions. Very strange.
However, an Acleris variegana was taken before midnight and whilst emptying the trap this morning a strange looking tortricidae was noted along with usual suspects and a double striped pug. On checking books, I suddenly realised it was a new for me moth, a macro species oak nycteoline. Not the most inspiring moth but nevertheless, very pleased to take it

Acleris variegana
