A better haul last night as overcast skies meant it was darker and warmer. Consequently 35 moths of 21 species were caught. Nothing outstanding but 4 yellowshells was a good number along with 6 setaceous hebrew character, 2 mother of pearls, 2 shuttle shaped dart, 3 flame shoulder and 2
Agriphila tristella.
Singles were of:
Pandemis corylana, willow beauty. square spot rustic, lesser broad bordered yellow underwing,
Crambus perlella, blood vein, straw underwing, straw dot, angle shades, small square spot, dagger sp, riband wave, engrailed and
Acrobasis adustella.
The humming bird hawkmoth was noted again, still feeding on buddleia at 11pm

Tonight, off to a local wood for a trail before spending Saturday night there with a good selection of traps, headlights and nets.
