Jury Still out 11.07.12
A small moth (photo 1) is creating confusion in being id'd. It appears to be of the family udea but several folk have looked at it and can't decide. Suggestions are: Udea prunalis, a common garden species, Udea ferrugalis (rusty dot pearl) which is an immigrant moth recorded 106 times in Herts up to 2006 and never in July or Udea fulvalis, a rare migrant unrecorded in Herts. Interesting selection to choose from, but a dilemma that may never be finally sorted. Photo forwarded to county recorder. Details to follow.
Also photos of rosy minor (photo 2) a new for the garden species, clouded brindle (3) and large nutmeg (4)
