A quiet night at the trap with a total of 37 moths caught. Majority were large yellow underwings, setaceous hebrew characters and square spot rustics. Photo shows a riband wave in superb condition. Probably one of the most common moths in the garden, but this is the 1st record for several weeks. This signals the beginning of the 2nd generation emergence and as such, will last until October.
Also of note: newly emerged specimens of red admiral and ruddy darter in the garden
